Which Sealer/Overprint Varnish to use?Wet on wet or wet on dry high quality overprint varnishes. Medium tack varnishes. In line spot varnishing. Water based coatings, Emulsion Coatings.

The choice between types of varnish depends on several factors:-

  • appearance of the finish required
  • properties of the finish required
  • features available on the press to be used

The result obtained with any sealer or overprinting varnish is as dependant on the substrate as it is on the coating applied.  Selection of suitable paper or board is therefore of paramount importance to the quality of the finish.

The above descriptions of available sealers are intended to assist printers with their choice of Shackell Edwards Sealers and Overprint Varnishes.  They should be read in conjunction with the detailed technical data sheets available in the Technical Data Sheet Library.
